So we have been here for almost 3 weeks already! Still feeling so blessed by everything God has provided for us and the people here. Sometimes we wake up in the middle of the night cause of some small animals in our room or a scorpion in the bathroom haha but other than that-cold showers (which feel great cause it's sooo hot here), toilets, beds to sleep in and no air conditioning but lots of fans! I've learned how to handwash my clothes too, which is actually pretty fun! Also the food is really good, still not tired of it..breakfast is coffee and pancakes and for every lunch and dinner: beans, rice, tortillas and some kind of chicken. We have been doing most of our ministry in a village near us called Bethel. The people there are so full of joy! They seem poor from our worldly perspective but they do not take for granted what they have and treasure the things that are most important. The first church service we went to, one of the Nicaraugan pastors passed away during the service. He was singing a worship song on stage and passed out. We all prayed over him but the Lord decided to take him Home. It was a tragedy but it brought us so much closer to the people here. We got to pray comfort over them during their time of loss. We went to the funeral and it was almost like a celebration which was so different from how it is at home. But it was so awesome to see them praise the Lord even in death. They are so selfless. I feel like God is trying to change our perspective while we are here for the first few months so we will have HIS perspective the rest of the time. We had a youth conference at the place we are staying last weekend which was so fun! Worshipped, painted nails, and did hair and make up with the girls, they are precious! Also God has blessed my all girls ministry team with being able to lead a woman's Bible study for the women in Bethel. So please pray for those relationships and that God will do a mighty work during our times together. Thank you everyone for the prayers and encouragement from home, I appreciate it and it means sooo much!! Love you all!! Psalm 9-"I will thank Yahweh with all my heart; I will declare all Your wonderful works. I will rejoice and boast about You. When my enemies retreat, they stumble and perish before You. For You have upheld my just cause. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know Your name trust in You because You have not abandoned those who seek You, Yahweh."

Hey Cassie,
We as a class prayed for you today and keep you on the prayer list that gets sent out each week. Praise God that you are following God’s call on your life and living out what Paul is trying to teach us in the New Testament. You are an inspiration to your generation of young adults. Your treasure is being stored up in Heaven as we speak. God bless and protect you in your service to Him.
