We got to Chinandega, Nicarauga 5 days ago and we have already been blessed so much! The people here are so beautiful and kind. I love the way they live in community and they are so grateful for everything they have. I think we have all learned a lot from them already. We are serving with a ministry called Vision Nicarauga-http://www.visionnicaragua.org/. "Vision Nicaragua is a non-profit, multi-denominational Christian organization, whose purpose is to make known and serve the spiritual, physical and financial needs of the people of Nicarauga. Vision Nicaragua is open to all who willing to share their God given gifts and talents with the people of Nicaragua. We are committed to seek wisdom and discernment through the scriptures, prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we carefully consider each need." It is a blessing to be staying at this ministry with showers and mattresses to sleep on and also there are 2 volcanoes in our backyard and it is beautiful here!! God is breaking our hearts for these people and I cannot wait to see HIM work among them. Isaiah 61 has been coming up in my time with the Lord everyday: "provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations." The Lord has appointed each of us for such a time as this to bring hope to these people.
